Background:

The Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries (MEEI), contracted Det Norske Veritas Trinidad & Tobago Limited (DNV GL) to conduct a National Facilities Integrity Audit (NFIA) of the Oil and Gas Industry. The project was performed over a nine-month period starting in July 2015 and involved 30 companies selected based on DNV GL’s knowledge of the T&T Oil & Gas sector and considerations of perceived risk. The final approval for the selection of the 30 companies was given by the MEEI. The audit was comprehensive, encompassing offshore as well as onshore activities, and covered infrastructure in the upstream, midstream and downstream segments of the domestic energy sector with the primary purpose of the audit was to establish the integrity of the selected facilities.

Objective:

Participants will receive information on the following topics:-

  • Methodologies developed and approach undertaken to conduct the audit
  • Generic results, assumptions and conclusion from the audit
  • The MEEI will address the purpose behind the initiative and disclose future plans and further expectations of the Industry Stakeholders as a result of the audit
  • We will hear from a selection of the Industry Stakeholders in both specific addresses and panel discussions that are presently in the optimizing and/or managing phase and how they have developed their Asset Integrity Management (AIM) programs as a means to establish the transfer of knowledge and experiences to other Industry Stakeholders presently in the Learning, Developing or Implementing phases of their programs
  • The NFIA Energy Conference Workshop will be the inaugural meeting place for the Energy Industry to collectively discuss the extreme challenges facing the country on the topic of Asset Integrity Management (AIM) and how we could collaboratively achieve an improvement on the national average rating and create a risk reduction for the overall T&T domestic energy sector
