Liz Jolly
Liz Jolly has been a geoscientist with BP for 20 years. She took up her current role in March 2011, based in Houston. This role covers BP’s deep water exploration and appraisal programmes in the US Gulf of Mexico, Brazil, Trinidad and Arctic exploration in Canada.
Prior to taking up her role in Houston, she managed BP’s exploration program in Canada including BP’s Arctic, Beaufort Sea licenses. She was based in Trinidad from 2002-2006, where she spent four years as BP’s Exploration Manager.
Prior to this, Liz worked on various exploration and development projects as a geoscientist in BP’s North Sea Business.
Before joining BP in 1990, Liz gained her degree in geological sciences from Oxford University. This was followed by a PhD with the University of Wales, Cardiff where she studied structural and stratigraphic evolution and sedimentary fill of the South Pyrenean foreland basin and subsequently completed a post-doctorate at the University of Birmingham, where she researched the development of North Chilean fore-arc basins. She has taught courses in structural geology, sedimentology and production geology.
