Matt Kirk is the VP Subsea and Export Systems for the Americas Region at Wood, a role he has held since 2015. Matt has 20 years of experience in the Subsea Industry spanning a broad range of Engineering, Project, Construction and Operational Management roles. He holds a degree in Mechanical and Marine Engineering from Liverpool John Moore’s University and has been a Chartered Engineer with IMarEST since 2003. Matt is an active member of the Houston branch of the SUT and was the lead in founding the Houston operations for former employer, Xodus Group in 2011. Matt started his career with Stolt Comex Seaway (latterly, Acergy then Subsea 7) where he worked for 12 years. During this time Matt served as a Ships Field Engineer; Project Technical Director for the BP Endeavour Hot Tap (the world’s first Oil Line Hyperbaric welded hot tap); Regional Engineering Manager for Europe; and as Group Director for ROV Assets and Operations.
Matt’s passion for new technology continues to drive his work internally within Wood to achieving transformational industry change.
