Born in Suzuka, Japan in 1961, Hiroshi Kita fondly called “Kita San” has 30 years’ experience in the petrochemical industry having started with Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company headquartered in Japan in 1986 immediately after graduating from Nagoya University with a Master of Engineering.
He has led several petrochemical projects in both the domestic and international arena leading to assignments in Venezuela, China, Saudi Arabia, Brunei and Equatorial Guinea.
As the Chief Executive Officer of Caribbean Gas Chemical Company, he is tasked with the responsibility of carrying a plant from incubation to birth. During the construction of the methanol and dimethyl ether plant at Union Industrial Estate, La Brea, he has oversight of the procurement and engineering works that will be completed by over 3000 workers. On the startup of operations in Q1, 2019, he is expected to lead a permanent staff of approximately 150 workers.
No stranger to this task, having led the construction and startup of similar plants all over the world which produced a range of chemicals, Hiroshi Kita knowledge spans the fields of engineering, operations and management.
An avid golfer and tennis player, he is married to Yumiko Kita and has two daughters in the medical field.
