In Trinidad and Tobago, citizens are unaware of the socio-economic dangers associated with secret company ownership in the extractive sectors. The Trinidad and Tobago Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (TTEITI) in partnership with the Trinidad and Tobago Transparency Institute (TTTI), the British High Commission of Port-of-Spain and the Delegation of the European Union will be hosting a workshop under the theme Lifting the Veil on Secret Company Ownership in Trinidad and Tobago to increase awareness of critical issues around Beneficial Ownership Disclosure in Trinidad and Tobago.

The workshop will feature interactive presentations from various industry experts and will explore local challenges in Beneficial Ownership disclosure along with the legal and institutional changes necessary to enable BO disclosure and Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs).
